Psalm 145
September 24, 2023
Our Father, who reigns forever in his heavenly kingdom, we extol you and you alone.
Your greatness is unsearchable and that means when we think we’ve discovered all of who you are … we do not know nearly enough.
Indeed, as John said, if we wrote down all your wonders, we would run out of paper and ink.
Help us Lord, as we come this morning with doubt and skepticism, sorrows and pains to believe these truths
Help us to remember you are, “gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. You are good to all, and your mercy is over all that you have made. You uphold all who are falling and raise up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. You are righteous in all your ways and kind in all your works. You are near to all who call on you, to all who call on you in truth. You hear our cry and save us.”
Lord, help our unbelief and teach us, if we have not already, to call upon you in truth. To call on you as the only Savior and the only redeemer of man. To call on you as the only one who can satisfy our deepest desires and mend the frailties of our hearts.
Our mouth will speak the praise of the LORD, and let all flesh bless your holy name forever and ever.
And all God’s people said, “Amen.”
