Psalm 138

Father, Spirit, Son, we praise you, You are the God most high, complete, and needing nothing.

You are creative, eternal, compassionate, gracious, and of special importance to us faithful and forgiving.

We honor you.

Although we are constantly confronted by things screaming for our attention we delight in your word and the hopes and dreams that those words instill in us.

We are blessed to be the recipients of the scriptures which underscore your reputation that has been handed down across the millennia.

Thank you for listening to us and meeting us in the various circumstances of our lives. This morning some of us come to you in confidence, while others of us feel challenged and vulnerable,

and perhaps a few are even angry with you. Let your hand be ready to help each of us, as we cling to your word, and depend on your loyal love.  Increase our convictions about your ultimate goodness, and animate our lives as we attempt to walk in your ways.

Thank you for the recent updates from our Global Partners. It is encouraging to hear how your word is going out and impacting parts of the world that we know little about. Thank you for helping the merged teams Catherine has been working with find ways to work together as they bring strategies into alignment.

LORD, make the ancient ways new in our time. As David preaches to us in a few minutes about the “Episode of the Sons of Sceva” give us sense of heightened awareness regarding the tension that the residents of Ephesus felt. Help us then take this story and somehow embrace and complete it in our lives.

Don’t abandon us. Preserve us this week. Fulfill your purpose in us.

And all Gods people said Amen.
