Psalm 90
October 29, 2023
Dear Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
We praise you for being the creator of everything. Before anything came into being, you were the mastermind coming up with a plan of how you wanted the world to look and function. The more we discover about our earth and solar system, the more we are in awe of your creative genius and how everything works together. Moses was mindful of your great power when he understood that you had complete control and authority over all of your creation…including us!
Father, we confess that in the busyness of our lives, we mistakenly think we are the ones in charge. In many cases, we don’t even pause to ask for your input. Please forgive us. Help us to first seek your guidance on decisions we need to make. By the power of the Holy Spirit, direct us into actions that will align us with the priorities you want us to pursue. Help us to remember that our days on this earth fly by in comparison to eternity. As Moses requested, may we gain a heart of wisdom, by keeping a proper understanding of what is truly important in the time you have given us on this planet.
We thank you for the time C was able to spend in Orlando last month as an instructor at Wycliffe’s Inspire conference. We know she appreciated the time she was able to spend being encouraged and challenged by co-workers. We pray that you would continue to bless the ministry of Wycliffe Bible Translators around the world. We also pray that you would be leading C to have a more clear understanding of what Sabbath rest looks like in her life. Help us all to gain a better understanding of what Sabbath rest should look like for each of us. We ask for special guidance for C and D as their neighbor J was unexpectedly killed in a crash on I94 this week. Show them how to come alongside the surviving widow S and her children. May their actions be a good demonstration of your love and help them to have the right words to share, should spiritual conversations arise.
Heavenly Father, we ask that you would continue to be guiding Pastor David, Mark Rhoads, Mark Anderson, Greg Kvamme, and Paul Stein as they lead our church on the Elder Board. Thank you for their willingness to serve you in this role. We pray that you would put a hedge of protection around each one of them and their families. We also pray that you would guide them by your Holy Spirit on how to bring the greatest glory to you through our work at Centennial Church.
We ask these things in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and all God’s people said…Amen.
