Psalm 68
May 21, 2023
To our great and awesome God, we give you all blessing, glory, honor, power, and majesty to you.
For what victory oh Lord could we possibly claim for ourselves, you are our champion.
On your day of justice, Our enemies shall flee before us because of you. The wicked who inflict us will perish in your presence.
And as for us? We will be filled with joy and gladness, singing praises to you God for the enemies of sin and death have been thrown down by the blood of Jesus.
In your gospel, the orphan finds themselves adopted, the lonely find a friend, the prisoners are released from prison, the widow of the world becomes the bride of Christ.
We were languishing God and you rescued us … not by our works, but by your grace.
It was indeed Mary (the woman prophesied to announce the news) who declared to your disciples and to us the words of the Psalmist, “The kings of this world have been overthrown, the true king has come to reign and we relish in the spoil.”
And we relish Lord that when you ascended, you did not leave us as orphans but gave us your Holy Spirit through whom we have received gifts that we might use them to your glory here and now in the church.
Blessed be the Lord, the God of our salvation, who daily bears us up. Who promises justice is coming – that the wicked will be struck and reduced to nothing in your sight.
And father we praise you for those who plant churches to preach the good news of this gospel to us and specifically to our district.

We Pray also for their follow-up team as they continue conversations with people who are interested in Christianity and who Jesus is. We Pray for health for David and Katrina’s family: emotional, physical, spiritual and for wisdom for us as parents as they train their children.
We thank you Lord that you hear our prayers. We pray you’d hear them now in the name of Jesus and all God’s people said: Amen.
