Psalm 8
June 12, 2022
Heavenly Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
It is right we pause today in awe of just how majestic you are. The creativity and imagination you have displayed on this Earth and in the heavens is truly amazing. Whether it be the vibrant colors you use to make things pleasing to the eye, or the unbelievably complex nature of how you constructed the human body. We are thankful that in this vast array of your creation, David reminds us that you have entrusted us to care for and manage your creation. Help us to manage well the works of your hands.
We pray that you would help us to continue to be intentional about reaching out and interacting with our neighbors this summer. When we realize that people are your best creation, may this help us to find joy in spending time with them and listening to where they are at. We ask that through your Holy Spirit, they may catch a glimpse of the great love you have for them and that they may see in us a reflection of Jesus.
Father, we are thankful for how you have worked in your perfect timing to bring David and Abbie to Centennial Church. We ask through David’s leadership, You would continue to teach our church what it means to be fully devoted followers of You. Show us how to love David and Abbie in a way that allows them to flourish as they help to further your ministry through Centennial Church. May we continue to learn what it means to care for each other and to also care for those who do not know You yet.
In obedience to your word, we pray for those you have placed in leadership. We understand that at the local and national level, there are many challenges that face the men and women making decisions. Please guide them to make decisions that honor You. Help them to have a servants heart and keep their pride in check.
In a similar way, we pray that you would give us all a heart that looks to the interests of others ahead of ourselves. In so doing, hopefully we will recognize opportunities to share with them the tremendous hope that we have because of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
For it’s in his name we pray….. and all God’s people said………Amen.
